Raven's Challenge 76

It is Saturday and time to play with words supplied by Raven's Wordzzle

This Week's Ten Word Challenge will be: superlative, flea market, falling leaves, disinformation, who was that masked man?, keeping kids out of trouble, I'm a believer, bonnet in the attic, staff, generation.
For the mini challenge: deep in the forest, government, charming, heirlooms, flabbergasted

A Mega Challenge
From There to the Flea Market

Keeping kids out of trouble then
Not so hard when men were men
Deep in the forest green
Rode the masked man lean
Who was that masked man they said
As the mighty Lone Ranger fled
A generation long gone by
Never ever asked why
No government to check his tax
No one asking for the facts
The bonnet in the attic now
Worn by her behind the plow
In the flea market down the street
Charming heirlooms often meet
Flabbergasted at what we find
Superlative stuff they left behind
Pictures of falling leaves
Staff hopes they will please
No disinformation in this place
I’m a believer in that grace
The past comes to life again
Free of our modern pain.

The Mini Challenge
High Temple Stuff

This week we want to tell you of the Dragon High Temple. This is the oldest and most important temple of the Dragon Lodge. Here once a year the High Exalted Dragon lights the dragon flame, may it burn forever. The temple is found deep in the forest of a Northern Island. On the outside it is crumbling and looks like something that was given up long ago. In the Dragon accords where the dragons agreed to stop eating people the government made this an official National Relic and prohibited any entrance to the island. The island is well posted to keep visitors out. The last visitor was Greenbeard the Pirate in 1234, so called because he ate a lot of Kelp. He was flabbergasted at what he saw inside the temple. One look at the golden thrown of the High Exalted Dragon, one of our greatest heirlooms, and he began to drool. One look at Green Beard and his men and the dragons began to drool. Being a charming bunch they invited him and his crew to dinner. They were delicious with just a taste of Kelp. But enough history.
In the center of the temple is the high altar where the the High Exalted Dragon, may he live forever, once a year recites the dragon pledge in old Dragon speech. This is not spoken anywhere in the world at this time but ritual is ritual and you do what it requires. Understanding is not important , only the words are important., may they be spoken forever.

  1. This is a fascinating glimpse into Dragon history. Why did the Dragons agree to stop eating people though?

  4. I love the dragon history! Please continue to share more.

And did you know that your High Exalted Dragon sounds a lot like Dr. John? Of course, that could just be because of my cheap speakers.

  5. Golden thrown? Is that a throne that ejects usurpers?

    Well done as usual dragons!

  7. Maybe kelp-eating pirates are tasty to dragons but they don't sound very appetizing to me.

Thanks for going out of your way to find my Wordzzle story when my link wasn't working. I know you already found it, but for those who didn't, it can be found HERE.

  8. I liked the poem about the things from the old days and the story about the dragon's history. I think Greenbeard and his men got what was coming to them.
