Raven's Challenge 74

It is Saturday and time to play with words supplied by Raven's Wordzzle
This Week's Ten Word Challenge will be: fair warning, hormones, journalism, philanthropist, burgeoning, running the bulls, saturation, tossed in the towel, whine, indelicate details
And for the mini: hard labor, lurid, quick fix, sizable contributions, trumpet

A Mega Challenge
Television News

Sizable contributions to burgeoning chests.
Journalism that fails all the regular tests
Fair warning isn’t always fair
Leaves the honest hanging there
Trumpet stuff that isn’t news
Like running the bulls in purple shoes
Lurid hormones on the loose
Killing the proverbial goose
Indelicate details we want to know
Makes the story grow and grow
Gone is the hard labor of years ago
Replaced by the whine of reporter ego
Philanthropist tried a quick fix
Tossed in the towel and said nix
Saturation of the airways with junk
On this stuff we are drunk

The Ten Word Challenge
Look Out Salamanders

The High Dragon Council met on the same day as running the bulls took place. They issued a stern but fair warning to Phrog and his salamanders to stop trying to spy on the dragons. Until they discovered the spying they thought that Phrog had tossed in the towel and all hostilities were ended. Some on the High Council felt that such saturation spying was in itself an act of war.
One of the female dragons that worked in the journalism department of the High Council was accused of working with the spy but the indelicate details are being withheld until they can be verified. She is said to have whined there was no spying just a matter of hormones.
To make matters worth the philanthropist who is the largest giver to the High Council has announced that unless this burgeoning conflict can be worked out he will cease his support.
Phrog does not know how lucky he is that he doesn’t have to be the leader of dragons.

  9. I thought the poem was very good. The story was good, too. Will there be a trial for the dragon that helped the spy?
