55 -Too Late

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.
With a nod to Raven and Quilly
( This week's Raven's words were as bad as they get , we hope, 27 words)
spaghetti, woe is me, mythology, avarice, windy, pathetic, paper towels, water, all my children, books, best deals of the week, Nobel Peace Prize, sleep deprived, cauliflower, practice

Too Late

"Woe is me!", I missed the best deals of the week at Books are Us, as last week was their annual spaghetti sale. These great books were half price " The Avarice of the Cauliflower Trade","Pathetic Mythology", Windy Water", "All My Children-the Soap", " Sleep Deprived Practice", "Noble Peace Prize Recipients" and " Paper Towels".

#################################

And Now for something completely different. And we mean completely different.
First there is poetry- written well by a few experts. You know it when you see it.

Then there is poetic drivel- written by many. Lots of fun and often punny.

Then below them all is quivel.
The following is quivel.
It in no way even pretends to be poetry or drivel.
Instead it is something that looks like a poem, uses at least three of Quilly’s words.
In this case it is also a flash 55 quivel since it has eleven lines with exactly five words to a line. Please, again, note this is a quivel it does not pretend to be a poem or even poetic drivel.
Dog Magic

His lubency always showed up
When they brought the pup
It adimpeated his smile bin
Gave him that pamphagous grin
Murklins gave way to light
Gave the will to fight
The aeipathy pulled him down
In his sad hospital gown
The cute little isangelous pup
Built his fighting strength up
On heavenly vibes to sup.

lubency :(Noun) willingness; pleasure
Adimpleate (Verb). to fill up
Pamphagous-( Adj) all-consuming

  3. I think I would have picked up The Avarice of the Cauliflower Trade. That sounds like a coffee table book that needs to exist. If nothing else, it would be a conversation starter.

    I'm up!
