Flash 55 +

With a nod to Raven and Quilly
( This week's Raven's words were rather nice )

Friday 55 Flash Fiction is brought to you by G-man (Mr Knowitall). The idea is you write a story in exactly 55 words. If you want to take part pop over and let G-man know when you've posted your 55.

Every week a nice lady named Raven gives us fifteen words and phrases to use in a story. Here we try to use those words and phrases in a flash 55.This week's words are: Chorus line, clam chowder, apples, jack-in-the-box, puddles, Iran, quarry, housekeeping, speed, letter, motorcycle, grandiose, summer, flying off the handle, blue jays

The grandiose Chorus Line Hotel served apples and clam chowder to the summer motorcycle crowd while housekeeping head, Fransica Iran, was flying off the handle supposedly at the group from the Letter Quarry that made puddles, but in reality because her Blue Jays lacked speed and the pitcher looked like a jack-in-the-box .

And Now for something completely different. A flash 55 quivel. Something that looks like a poem, uses at least three of Quilly’s words and has five words to a line for eleven lines. Click on the special words for definitions.

Revenge of the Geek

Niddering he was often called
Such labeling made him appalled
Fallaciloquence he saw it as
Mean and all that jazz
Many a fracas he fought
But these came to naught.
He was no foppotee indeed
Just a poor broken reed
The volgivagant group far away
Knew his wrath one day
And he made them pay.

  4. You know Dragons... I have known a LOT of dragons in my day... a LOT... but NONE of them were a smart or as clever as YOU Dragons! Especially considering that Ravens "15 words" are actually 24 words! That eats up a lot of the 55 words! LOL! And your poem is wise! You know what Bill Gates said... right? Be NICE to the Geeks! They will be your BOSS one day! Tis true, tis true!

  9. Dragons are amazing creatures. Quite clever with words -- and explanations. All of those grandiloquent specimens of vocabulary are not Quilly words!
